About

Hello! I’m Emily, a Bengals-fan-forever, former LA cybersecurity marketing wiz, currently a NY-subway-riding transplant. Even though I’m currently surrounded by concrete, I’m always inspired by mother nature herself. My budding design aesthetic has become somewhat of a blend of organic eclecticism.

ABOUT … EVEN MORE

From cybersecurity to fashion design. Graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and headed out west to sunny Los Angeles, where I worked at Saviynt, a cybersecurity technology company. Utilizing my experiences in strategic marketing, I took on the challenge of Demand Generation Manager at Net Health, an electronic health record company. However, not even the steady sunny days and easy-going nature of LA could keep me from my long-time fascination and passion.

Back to the east coast and to Parsons School of Design, where I learned how to bring a passion into a reality: from sketching designs to sharpening my sense of fabrications and color stories, to pattern making and digital 3D renderings, to engineering flat scraps of fabrics into structural garments.

For my final semester, I got the opportunity to be a design team intern at Love Shack Fancy in New York. I helped the team prepare for the Spring 2023 fashion show, participated in an upcycling project to create something new from various old prototypes and pieces, created prints and CADs, and even designed my own collection to present to the design team.

My internship lead to a freelancing position where I added the finishing touches to their Fall 2023 presentation pieces, created garments for the orchestra members, and started diving into the designs for the wovens team ready to wear collections.

As assistant designer I have been able to work side by side with the talented design team from conceptual inspiration to the final selections of trims and linings and everything in between including: mood boards, sketches, designing tech packs, proto fittings, draping, pattern adjustments, color and print selections, embroidery layouts, fabric sourcing, lining and trim selections, SMS fittings and final touches for fashion shows and photoshoots.
